CARING-SHARING
On Friday, January 15, the students of Saint Paul School, rallied for the humanitarian needs in Haiti. A Dress-down Day was declared, and to be part of this event, monetary donations were offered for victims of the earthquake. Through this effort $2,066.75 was sent to CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES.
IN PRAYER
At lunchtime, those who are in the School Hall, prior to students asking God's blessing, participate in a short Litany of Petitions, voiced for Families, Caregivers, and Victims in Haiti. An example is: "For families in Haiti and in the United States who are waiting to hear from loved ones, that good news comes to them, Lord, hear our prayers." This prayer was made available to us through the NOTRE DAME VIRTUAL SCHOOL, for which we are grateful.
JOIN US
On Sunday, January 31, at 11:30a.m., our opening Mass for CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK will take place at SAINT PAUL CHURCH. Throughout the week, special events will focus on just why we are so fortunate to work, attend, send children to - SAINT PAUL SCHOOL! Please see our website for daily activities, and, come join us in Liturgy on Sunday, January 31, at 11:30a.m.
A SECOND SACRAMENT
On February 1, students in Grade 2 will be receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Mrs. Gaughan has been instructing the class, helping each student to realize that through this sacrament, Jesus bring us His peace, as He forgives us. These young children know that they become stronger spiritually, by the presence of Jesus. May we, too, recall these facts, as we live each day to its fullest!
AN EPISCOPAL VISIT
On Friday, February 5, Most Reverend John A. Dooher, Auxiliary Bishop of Boston, will celebrate Liturgy, here at SAINT PAUL CHURCH, for our students as we bring to a close the celebration of CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK! Bishop Dooher is Bishop of the South Region of the Archdiocese, of which Hingham is part.
BACK ON TRACK
Students of Grades 7 and 8 have resumed their commenting on the CARDINAL'S BLOG! The Blog appears each Friday, online and "walks us through" the activities of Cardinal Sean, on a weekly basis. This is an added means of making students aware of their Church, the Leader of the Church in our Archdiocese, and his Flock. It can be found on - cardinalseansblog.org-.
